About Me

Andrew St. Hilaire - About Me

What I do ...

I'm a pianist, keyboardist, and Music Director, who also provides professional music services based in Winnipeg, Canada.

I offer a unique variety of skills, services, and experience. In the world of musical theatre, working as a Music Director/Conductor, pit orchestra musician, and keyboard programmer, I enjoy how the work incorporates many of my skills and creative interests, and allows me to meet and collaborate with amazing and talented people from across Canada. My experience includes being a collaborative accompanist, pianist, and keyboardist with university and school groups, for dance classes, church services, with various bands, and many musical productions. I also offer services that include recording, teaching, arranging, re-orchestrating, copying (engraving), keyboard programming, and publishing.

In August 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I became a licensed real estate agent and you can learn more by visiting my real estate website at www.andrewsthilaire.com.

  • Clear conducting ability while also playing keyboard
  • Tasteful re-orchestrations for reduced orchestra sizes
  • Keyboard programming using Mainstage, Cantabile, and hardware
  • Expert with Finale and Sibelius music notation software for score preparation and alterations
  • Preparing and providing online tools and resources for casts and orchestra musicians

Created Online Music Software

I developed and coded a new, online software application I named MixMyPart.com.  It lets singers and musicians learn and rehearse individual parts while controlling/mixing how much they hear of all the other parts at the same time and more.

Produced A Musical

The Last Five Years was a show I was eager for an opportunity to perform, so I decided to produce it myself, with the full orchestration. It was joy to play, and a very educational and rewarding experience.

Arrangements

I really like a cappella choirs and how the human voice is so versatile in its ability to produce so many different sounds. I enjoy creating arrangements of popular tunes for choirs to sing when I have the time, and it's fun trying to reproduce the sound of instruments and recreate a familiar tune with voices alone.
